Last night I attended a talk in the Bullitt Hotel Belfast by the Artist and blogger Aly Harte. I wasn’t really sure what to expect, but she turned out to be a lovely warm individual. She talked about her creative processes, her business, how to get your work out there and really follow your passions. I came away thinking she is like a really successful version of me because she is super into her fitness as well. Now that is the type of self limiting negative beliefs that I need to get rid of immediately. As she explained we need to stop the comparisons right now. They do us no favours, leave us feeling depleted and like nothing is every good enough. When we really focus in on our own stuff, really get into the flow and groove of what lights us up, then nothing else really matters.
So that being said I feel like I am perhaps getting a little closer to fine tuning my passions and beliefs. The reason I say that is because I have continueously has a little bit of chatter in the back of my head telling me to go back to my creative side. Last night just opened that up even more, this is about me having faith in my talents and going for it. I love the idea of creating something that helps me relax, get off grid for a bit and speaks to my strengths. Now whether that is photography or painting with other mediums I do not know, but I have to start somewhere right. I once read that it doesn’t matter where you start, as long as you just start. Baby steps can eventually create monumental life changes, changes that are totally doable.
I spent a lot of time studying and creating in the world of photography, I loved it, I loved street photography, more abstract stuff and lots in between. I think I am going to experiment with iPhone photography again, I loved that!
By going to that event last night it definitely ignited something in me, and Aly even followed me on Instagram and said she was looking forward to collaborating in the future. Whether she means it or not doesn’t matter, because it shows me there are possibilities out there. I have more to write on this, I’m just getting started, so expansion will come soon.
